Yummy Mummies Back to Work…

On the 16th of September a very special event for international mums in Tokyo took place at The Tokyo American Club in Shinagawa. The aim of the event was to help empower and inform ladies wishing to return to work after having children.

Here Anna Kunnecke and Pippa Griffiths would like to share some of the feedback they received from attendees. (All the sponsors and presenters mentioned have their contact details listed in our “Things we Love” section .)

"I enjoyed the day very much. I liked the color exercise a lot and found the breakout sessions at the end with individual speakers very useful. A really productive and helpful day. Thanks!”

Efrot Weiss

“Thank you for the initiative and the arrangements.  I enjoyed the morning and essentially attended because I was curious. I doubt I will resume “gainful employment” within the foreseeable future given a newborn and study commitments, but will eventually do so in time and join the world of “balancing acts”, hence my attendance!”

Christel Fourie

"Congrat's on the lovely & informative event today! The ladies really seem to enjoy the event.”

Shurah Norrell

"Elizabeth Handover helped us to see what our work style is, based on Carl Jung's psychological types and more recent color energy theory. I connected that to my mothering style and wa-la, I see where I have been fighting myself.

In the small workshop, I chose to be in the lawyer group. To see other foreigners who have started businesses or who are interested in starting a business allowed me to see that all things are possible.

Talking to Julia, the head of FEW, I see it is possible to be a good mother, even if I am not so good at 24/7 mothering. I am more able to understand and see mothering styles from not just a personal (right vs. wrong) standpoint but more from an objective one (variety of personality types).”
